Councillor Jimmy Sanger

Profile

Hi my name is Jimmy,

I have lived in Bexhill for over 20 years now. I love the town and its amazing community spirit

My wife Sophie works for the NHS on the frontline in the cancer unit at the Conquest – we have 3 children who attend local schools, and we have recently taken on a foster child long term.

As a family with dogs we enjoy country walks within the delightful spaces around Bexhill in addition to football & rugby. I have developed a keen interest in local governance as I feel a Councillor’s role is to deliver services and needs before the interests of national party politics- I am therefore a true Independent. The existing successful Councillors in St Marks Cllrs. Kathy Harmer & Sarah Errington have endorsed my decision to stand and will be supporting my campaign.

I have been employed in HR, business and retail management having used my experience to support a local Primary School as a governor with responsibilities for safeguarding, finance, leadership and management.

I have wanted to stand for my local community for many years and believe this would be a great opportunity to serve the people of Bexhill/St Marks at District Council level.
I have decided to stand for Rother District Council as an Independent candidate as being Independent avoids being restricted by national party politics.

I am fully aware of the main issues that face the residents in the west of Bexhill – developers wanting to build more and more houses without the provision of the necessary infrastructure.
Surely enough is enough and it would be my intention to support the views of residents.

I am a passionate straight-talking person who will give time & energy if given this opportunity to support the residents of St Marks/Bexhill – Bexhill is my town and future for my family and my children.

If elected I hope to further develop and create opportunities for children and teenagers in the area. When I was young, I attended a local youth club which was fantastically run and kept a lot of children out of trouble. More should be considered for the young people of Bexhill.

I believe local government and councils need to be run, working efficiently together, ensuring that every £ of Council is used wisely to provide good value for money.
I would be honoured if the well-informed residents of St Marks give me the opportunity to serve them on Rother District Council.

I look forward to meeting over the next few weeks- please do not hesitate to contact me –
