NEW £48M MENTAL HEALTH HOSPITAL/DIAGNOSTIC
CENTRE, TWO PROPOSED NEW NHS HEALTH CENTRES:
Wainwright Close, Little Common, new Paediatric Unit
now operative Egerton Park and Creative Art Centre

RESILIENT FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
We prevailed in the face of the pandemic, continuing to
deliver services to our residents, formation of a Community
Hub to reach those most vulnerable, and administered
grants and support packages

LEVELLING-UP GRANT: Succeeded in our bid for the
infrastructure improvement project for the De La Warr
Pavilion and a new community hub in Sidley

DELIVERY OF THE BMX/SKATEBOARD PARK:
Using community collaboration on design & funding

COUNCIL TAX REDUCTION SCHEME REVIEW /
ANTI-POVERTY STRATEGY: 6,442 residents in receipt of
this scheme

ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT: To combat litter,
fly tipping and dog fouling resulting in a noticeable
improvement

ROTHER LOTTERY: To help community good causes
reducing demand on reserves for Community Grants.
Currently 74 good causes benefitting

PLANNING PROCESS STEP CHANGE FOR PUBLIC
INVOLVEMENT: Recognised as the best public speaking
policy in the region

UPGRADES: Relaunched an upgraded 1066 Country Walk
and together with Bexhill Heritage financially supported
restoration of Bexhill seafront shelters

OPEN COUNCIL: Additional transparency achieved with
live streaming of meetings

LAUNCHED BUSINESS ROTHER ALERTS: Over 1,700
businesses signed up

 

Rother Association of Independent Councillors

DECLARED CLIMATE EMERGENCY: Implementing
our plan for a carbon neutral RDC by 2030. Village Hall
Environmental Upgrade Project

PROVISION OF NEW HOMES: Formation of Rother Homes
to build on Rother land. Commenced Blackfriars (Battle)
after being stalled for over 50 years!

MP & COUNCILLOR ENGAGEMENT: Bridged the gap by
facilitating meetings with our MP & District Councillors,
previously not held

BEXHILL TOWN COUNCIL ELECTIONS:
After democratic governance review, we reversed the
decision of previous administration and approved a Town
Council for Bexhill

COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE LEVY (CIL) FUNDING:
Introduced a more transparent & fair process for
distribution of funds received from developers
